 Intimate Expressions

Boudoir and Trousseau Photography:  It's your wedding day. You've planned everything down to the last detail. As you  check your makeup one last time, your maid of honor hands you groom his wedding gift. He opens the box and finds a small album.  He smiles, almost blushing as he opens the album to reveal beautiful images of his bride.

These are not just any images, they are trousseau images. Tasteful intimate Images of you in your veil, makeup, garter, and wedding lingerie.  An exciting gift only you can give.

These also make great Valentines Day, Anniversary and Birthday gifts. Remember your first anniversary is "Paper".

We approach these images in much the same way we do Maternity images. Tasteful is the key word here. We are talking about the sort of images you could show your Mother or hang on your wall.  We realize everyone has their own comfort level, so do we. So don't plan on anything too risqué.

Please contact us to set up a time to come in to see some samples and discuss what you are looking for. We have been doing this sort of photography for over 10 years and have many current sample books for you to peruse.

I never dreamed we would be doing so many of these in a state as conservative as Nebraska, but since we are I figured I’d answer some of our most asked questions here.

Q: I don’t have a “model type” body. Is that ok?

A: Nobody’s perfect and even if you were, you would never know it. The fact is that you’re partner loves you just the way you are. We can do some flattering with props, lighting, carefully placed clothing and a bit of air brushing. I guarantee your special someone will Love your images.

Q: I’m real shy and not sure if I can do this?

A: Think of this as a chance to play “dress-up”. We get all levels of modesty here and are more than happy to work within your limitations.  Besides, once people get started they find out it’s not near as scary as they thought. We’ve never seen an exception to this. You will have fun.

Q: Can I bring a friend?

A: Yes. In fact we require it. We will need someone to fuss with both you and your clothing, so bring a real good friend. We see a lot of mothers coming along on these sessions, and have even had a couple of them schedule their own session once they have seen how much fun it is.

Q What should I wear?

A: Anything. Keep in mind who this is for. You know what they like. In addition to the "normal" lingerie, keep in mind uniforms, jerseys, a favorite shirt of theirs... Anything you can think of.

Q: Should I bring props?

A: Yes. Anything can work as a prop. Let your imagination run wild.

Q: It the photographer a male or female?

A: Sorry ladies, but you’re stuck with me. This is one of the reasons for the friend. Neither of us would feel comfortable with me pawing at you making adjustments. I don’t do this for any of my other portraiture either. I’m all about personal space.

Q: I don’t know if I can be comfortable with a male photographer.

A: I’m not sure how much help I can be here. I can tell you that after documenting weddings for more than 10 years and having shot many, many, many of these for all types of clients, I’ve seen it all.

Q: Do you photograph couples?

A: Yes. I love to photograph couples.

Q: I see images on your website and in your studio. I’m not comfortable with anyone else seeing my images. Will anyone else see my images?

A: The images you see online or in studio are there by permission of the client. Most are compensated in some way as well. Your images will only be seen by our staff. Once images are printed the files are archived or destroyed.

Q: I see a lot of outdoor images. This is way cool but wont people see me?

A: This is my favorite question. We live on an acreage with lots of trees and privacy. I promise you we will not be interrupted or seen. We are also adding new things all the time.

Q: I see some images are in the rain. How can we get these shots? What if it doesn’t rain?

A: These are usually the last shots we do and are shot using our rain machine.

Q: The indoor shots. Some look like a hotel room. Who pays for that?

A: The client is responsible for booking a hotel if that is what they want. We do a lot of these and may be able to find another client to split the cost with you. We are also looking into converting a spare bedroom in our home for this use in the future.

Q: I’ve seen some creative hot tub shots. Is there somewhere you like to go for those?

A: we actually have an 8 person hot tub and cabana used specifically for that. Please make sure and mention this ahead of time so we are able to prepare the tub for you.

Q: Can you come to my home?

A: Yes, we are more than happy to work with you. Of course the lighting and size of the rooms are always something to think about. We would be happy to discuss this with you.

Q: My friend has a motorcycle/car /garage… that is special to them and would be perfect for this. Is that something that is possible?

A: Yes, we can go there or you can bring it here. We would be happy to discuss this with you.

Q: I had so much fun last time, can I do it again?

A: Yes. We have several clients who return, a few come back every year. You probably will not need a book every year. In fact, you may not even need an entire session. Maybe just a few select poses. These are great for Valentines or anniversaries. Trust me; this is one gift they will never get tired of receiving.

Q: Ok, so how much does it cost?

A: The cost for this type of photography varies like any other. It depends on number of poses and final products. Give us a call or drop us an email to discuss your specific needs.
